Jack Coffrin of Miles City Montana discovered 74 cartons totaling 4980 pounds of books he did not order. A freight bill for 376.99 and publisher invoices for 9095.53 accompanied the shipment. He says only about 200 dollars of books were his. He believes the order was misrouted from a bookstore.
In Santiago two army infantry regiments mutinied prompting the government to call it an attempt at military sedition. The uprising was led by Brig. Gen. Roberto Viaux Marambo who was recently promoted and then retired from command. The government provided no immediate details.
Virginia Knauer told the Aerosol Marketing Conference that a consumer injured by puncturing a deodorant spray found warnings about what not to do but no guidance on what to do if puncture occurs. She urged more labeling including ingredient lists and safety steps.
