Fort Scott terror case ends with surrender of couple
A man Gordon Leroy Carsrud and his wife Maxine Carsrud were arrested after threatening a farm woman near Fort Scott. Carsrud claimed he killed a Colorado sheriff and would not be taken alive. Police found two loaded pistols at the Lowman home as ten officers surrounded the site. Carsrud surrendered peacefully. Carsrud had a long arrest record in Milwaukee and Colorado including larceny and auto theft with a 1954 aggravated robbery conviction and 1959 parole.
