Two Lawrence Teens Die in Train-Car Crash
In Lawrence, two high school students Ronnie Shirk a senior and Eldon Hinderliter a junior were killed when their car collided with a Santa Fe passenger train as they returned from a duck hunting trip. The driver John Miller 17 escaped with minor injuries. All three were thrown from the car. The crash occurred about six miles northwest of Lawrence near seven in the morning.
