A red white and blue nude female bust with a George Washington medallion was removed from the Fresno Fair art exhibit as unpatriotic desecration. Sculptor Arnold Jensen defended the piece as satire on sex sells and advertising while fair officials cited taste and respect for the flag and Washington.
Police investigated three city traffic accidents between 3 30 and 5 p m yesterday. The first occurred at Forest and Cherry around 3 35 when a 1963 Pontiac driven by Robert D Wilson 45 of 1312 W 5th struck the rear of a 1959 Chevrolet driven by Mrs Sharon Matlock 21 of 1805 W Main. Damages were about 400 to the Wilson car and 50 to the Matlock car with Matlock shaken but uninjured. A 1954 GMC panel truck driven by Lucille Nance 55 of Buffalo and a 1960 Plymouth driven by Lillian Johnson 72 of Humboldt collided about 4 05 at Highland and Ash with estimated damages of 25 and 125. About 5 p m a collision occurred at Main and Central between Richard Spitzer 16 of 720 S Ashby and Carl Weiner 88 of 904 S Evergreen with damages 10 to Spitzer’s left front and 125 to Weiner’s right front. Earlier at 12 30 p m Finch 110 N Garfield backed a 1954 Chevrolet into Krokstrom 106 W Main knocking the 1951 Chevrolet pickup.
A 1961 Falcon driven by Melvin B. Allen, 50, of R. 2, sustained about $600 damage in a rear end collision with a 1964 Kentworth semi-trailer truck near the west edge of town at 11 30 last night. Allen had only superficial injuries and was not treated. The truck, driven by Francis W. Debates, 22, of Jasper, Minnesota, had about $50 damage with no injuries. The crash occurred on highway K39 block west of the city limits.
Standard Fruit Co reports a new warehouse dock able to load about 50 trucks at once was exploited during rush hour Friday by thieves driving in as drivers. They allegedly loaded and hauled away 60 000 pounds of bananas from the facility.

Main was entered Thursday night but nothing was stolen. Earlier, Al Weggint said two batteries and 45 gallons of gasoline were taken from an oil lease southeast of Chanute.
A 20 truck convoy of the U S 1st Infantry Division was ambushed south of Phuoc Vinh near Ben Cat by Viet Cong using mines mortars and automatic weapons. The attack produced moderate casualties and followed a 20 minute firefight as allied forces continued their operation with sporadic sniper fire and a separate tear gas attempt by paratroopers.
Buffalo announces its annual Homecoming on October 16 with a 11 a.m. parade led by Joe Hake as homecoming chairman. Prizes of 15 10 and 5 will honor top floats while children receive special prizes. A noon bean dinner is planned on the old school grounds by churchwomen.
Paul N. Smith, 31, died when a car overturned on a creve near K126 about midnight Friday. Two other Parsons men, David Oxford, 30, and Patrick J. Flynn, 31, were hospitalized. Smith was survived by a widow and two children. The crash occurred about 15 miles east and 2 1/2 miles north of Parsons.
Oklahoma City AP report states Roy Parham, director of the state liquor board, watched a thief drive off with his car from the Capitol area. police were still seeking the vehicle.
President Johnson signed 13 bills before dawn as doctors report his recovery from major abdominal surgery. Dr. James Cain said the President is doing very well though a bit tired with a minor headache, and noted a stone in the ureter found during the gallbladder operation.
Wichita AP Gov William H Avery selects a 174 member steering committee after a Kansas highway conference to study funding for an expanded highway program. The panel will consider revenue sources bond financing or cash in advance and whether to present the plan during next January’s budget session or the 1967 regular session.
The Topeka area forecast calls for generally fair mild conditions with little temperature change through Sunday. Low tonight around 50, high Sunday 80 to 85. A weak cold front is expected to move across Kansas but no significant cooling or precipitation is expected. Strong winds ease from eastern Kansas and sunshine prevails statewide, with morning lows from 38 to 58 and Friday highs ranging 72 to 82 across locations like Olathe and Liberal.

Schilling Technical Institute in Salina plans to enroll nearly 300 students next fall. President Henry N. Neely told the State Board of Vocational Education the school will train technicians, with 20 to 25 instructors. Tuition to run about 500 a semester plus 250 for summer, including room and board. Dormitories and multiple buildings from the deactivated base to be used.

Three University of Indiana students died when a light plane struck a power line and crashed near Fulton airport Friday afternoon. The victims were Robert Freeman, 19, Evansville. Steven Cofield, 18, Winona Minn.. Ted Spicer, 18, Brownstown Ind. Spicer was likely the pilot, fresh from earning his license, and the flight plan indicated a St Louis to Columbia route.
Two Evanston women, Mary Ruth Carey and Lillian Schrayer, were robbed of about 435 dollars and bound with towels and stockings in their Muehlebach Hotel room in Kansas City. The suspects posed as hotel staff and fled after gagging the victims. Carey freed herself and summoned help.
Inland Bank of Pomona offers free help to women struggling with balancing checkbooks. President Wilson H. Asdel says any woman can call for an appointment with an officer who will assist, even if not an Inland Bank customer. The service is available to husbands as well.
