Mrs. Dean Geeding 59 of 819 S Santa Fe and Mrs. Gustaf Adelgren 46 of R2 were injured when their cars collided on South Plummer Road about 7 50 this morning. Both transported to Neosho Memorial Hospital with multiple injuries. Officers Duane Houck Tom Morehead and Lee Montgomery investigated the county road intersection crash.

A 79 year old man was run over three times by a car and killed in a Ga Lena tavern parking lot. Joe Joseph of Galena signed a statement admitting he drove the car. County Attorney Jules Doty planned manslaughter charges against Joseph as he remained jailed after arrest in Joplin.

B52 Jet Bombers Prove Power in World Flight
U S air officials hailed eight B52 bombers for long non stop flights covering up to 17000 miles and circling the North Pole at 65 below zero. Inside Job Suspected in $274000 Oxmoor Safe Theft
Police suspect an inside job in the Oxmoor mansion burglary of William Marshall Bullitt. The $274000 wall safe cash, ranging from $10 to $1000 bills, was taken from the study between 11 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. yesterday. A $41000 check also vanished but later turned up. The entry point was a raised unlocked library window on the first floor.

Fire Destroys Brieger Barn on George Brieger Farm
A corrugated iron barn on the George Brieger farm seven miles southwest of Chanute burned Saturday. About 27 tons of hay were lost. 12 tons belonged to Brieger and the rest to Gene McMillen. The blaze was fought by Chanute firemen who arrived at 2:30 p.m. and left two hours later. The cause remained undetermined as wind kept flames from spreading to other buildings. The barn was partly insured, hay was not.

A defroster part failed on a Chanute feed truck driven by Oscar D. Martin causing brakes to fail. The truck struck a highway crossing near Lincolnville Kansas and Gary Lee Martin five died. Two Ft. First Traffic Fatality On Kansas Turnpike
Edward R. Fitzpatrick, 48, an international representative of the United Packing House Workers Union, was killed on the 236 mile Kansas Turnpike opening last month. He rode with Ker mit Fry, 47, who allegedly fell asleep as a guard rail was ripped from the roadway. Fry faced charges of reckless driving and driving while intoxicated. Eleven collisions had occurred on the new turnpike since it opened.
