U S Cavalrymen and helicopter gunships repelled a Red ambush on a truck convoy 22 miles east of Pleiku and 60 miles south of Dak To in the central highlands. Across another Que Son Valley engagement near Da Nang, 61 enemy were killed in an 11 hour battle, with 7 Americans dead and 42 wounded. In Saigon area fighting, 118 Viet Cong were reported killed in two clashes and air losses included four American planes.
