45 Die In Jet Crash Over Rome
An early report says 45 people died when a Trans World Airlines Boeing 707 failed to take off at Rome Fiumicino Airport. The plane carried 73, with at least 26 Americans among the dead and 14 survivors. Passengers panicked as flames engulfed the aircraft after it overran the runway and struck a road grader.
