Trio Bound Over To District Court On Felony Charges
Three defendants were bound over to district court on felony charges after waiving preliminary hearings in city court. Charles Ratliff 19 of 101 N Evergreen faces statutory rape charges while Danny Shaw and John David Sherwood 20 Erie are charged with second degree forgery and feloniously assaulting Erie city marshal Bill Standley. Sherwood bond set at 1000, Ratliff bond 2000, Shaw bonds at 1000 each. Shaw previously found guilty on misdemeanor assault and battery charges related to the same incident.

Marion Page was elected district chairman with Don Olenhaus as vice chairman and Lloyd Helwig as secretary-treasurer. Don Sailor was re elected to represent the district on the state board. The gathering announced a five cent per market hog checkoff starting Jan 1 to fund a pork promotion and research program, with funds shared by state and local associations and national pork councils.
