Gerhart Seger former German legislator newsman and lecturer addressed the Left Hand Talk of the Month Club on a behind the scenes postwar Germany visit. He praised Germanys economic recovery crediting US aid and thrift noting rebuilt cities and a thriving economy. Seger contrasted currency reforms in the Allied zones with strong political recovery and suggested a United States of Europe is developing. He described East Germany as a weak Russian satellite and cited a large military police force. Separately a 1 ton truck stolen from Salvation Army in Kansas City was found aban doned in police custody at 718 8S Forest and Shurtleff Motor Company jacks were stolen from a used car lot.

Christmas TB Seals Mailed In Neosho County
Neosho County residents will receive 1955 Christmas seals by mail this week raising funds for tuberculosis work. 5,000 letters will be mailed by county chairs including Mrs. Walter Poor and others in Thayer Galesburg Chanute and St Paul. Proceeds fund mobile X ray screening and tuberculosis education. In 1954 there were 402 new TB bases and 121 deaths in Kansas.
