Goebel Stockebrand flood prevention dam construction starts after delays. The contract was awarded to Wilson Construction Co. of El Dorado a year ago. The dam is part of See Ran RC&D projects in the region.
The City Commission approved vacating a north south alley and North Lafayette between Cherry and Beech to allow Churchill Pumping Units Inc. to build a new facility. The plan could add 30 local jobs and reduce heavy truck traffic on Beech after a 30 day protest period. Churchill says orders from truck manufacturers drive the expansion.
