Crowds lined Main Street for the second annual Chanute Veterans Day parade in crisp fall weather. The 30 minute event featured 14 floats, 12 local bands, and three Fort Riley military units led by the 437th Army Band. Top prizes went to Pray for Peace by Brownie Scout Troop 19, Iwo Jima replica by Boy Scout Troop 25, and Pack 27 astronauts theme, with cash awards of 35, 25, and 15 dollars respectively.
