City officials say water supply remains tight as runoff rains last weekend added only a week's worth of water. An electric pump outage hindered upper-pool flow but is back in service. The board authorized a land survey for expansion of Santa Fe Park near Lulu Cross Collier’s 129 acre tract in Austin. A 20 acre McMillen addition plat was approved pending city attorney Briley’s final signoff. A piping contract with Piping Engineering Co of Wichita will supply and install pipe at the electric plant on a cost plus basis. A gas rate reduction plan was discussed but held for later. Pilot Jumped To Safety as Jet Burned Near Olathe

The Eagles Club House south of Chanute was raided Wednesday night with 34 cases of beer and other items stolen. Neosho County Sheriff Lee Montgomery and Undersheriff Jack Reynolds investigate. Police say thieves entered through a rear store room window and forced an inner door. Missing items include cigarettes and snacks. a saddle and blanket were later recovered and returned to Leonard Brazil of Chanute.
