A tornado swept Cherokee Kansas at about 3 15 am heavily damaging or destroying a drug store a grocery and an abandoned schoolhouse. Patrolman John Glenn said the tornado touched down on the eastern edge of the city uprooting a sign and ripping shingles from at least one home with no injuries reported.
