They reported selling a ticket to a hungry lady but could not find any hungry ladies. Pat Grimes helped coordinate preparations for last week’s firing of a Saturn rocket at Huntsville rocket center. Rescued Hunter Survives Frigid Colorado Ledge Ordeal
Mike Golden a Chanute High School graduate of 1960 and Colorado State University student, was rescued after nearly 24 hours trapped on a rock ledge in four degree below zero weather. He slid 30 feet into water while chasing a deer, suffered a sprained knee, but survived with helpers locating him at dawn and removing him from the ledge. He was treated in Boulder and praised for endurance.

Two of Family Injured in Crash Near Parsons
In Erie, Judy Myers 20 and Pat Myers 2 sustained cuts and bruises when the Myers 1953 Ford was rear ended by a 1952 Chrysler driven by William J. Eldringhoff 32 of Parsons as they turned into a driveway 11 miles south on US 59. Darkness and fog contributed to Eldringhoff missing the signal.

Chanute Humane Society discusses program and parade plans
Officers and members of the Chanute Humane Society board and planning committee met last night to advance its program. They plan to enter a float in the Veterans Day parade on November 11. Complaints about stray dogs and cats should be telephoned to Mrs. Charles F. Davis until a permanent program is set, the spokesman said. The society will locate owners or care for strays until homes are found.

Undersheriff Lester Marts reported a quiet Halloween in Neosho County with incidents in Stark and Erie. Three loads of junk were dumped on Main Street in Stark and later cleaned up. Thayer had no untoward activity, but watermelons were broken. In Erie an outdoor toilet appeared on the courthouse lawn and a missing school bell was reported from a school on the Big Island south of St. Paul.

Charles M. Citti 69 longtime Chanute businessman died this morning at his home after a heart attack. He operated C C Furniture at 17 South Highland and was born March 28, 1898. Survivors include his wife Mary Leatha Williams, one son Charles M. Citti of Seaford New York, a step daughter Bert Adams, Chanute, a step son Billie Derby Wichita, four sisters and three grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are pending with Johnson Mortuary.
