Train Crash Kills Three as Mill Wrecked in Ohio
A passenger train the Pennsylvania Rail Steeler hit a truck near Atwater Ohio and derailed smashing the Portage County Farm Bureau mill. Three men were killed and seven injured among about 60 passengers as the baggage car and four cars plunged through the mill. The wreckage extended 500 feet from the crossing to the mill site.

Racing Driver Robert Mark Dies After Lake side Crash
Lawrence racer Robert Mark died at Providence Hospital from injuries after his car overturned on the east curve of a Lakeside Stadium feature race in Wyandotte County. He suffered a fractured left arm and possible broken back. The crash occurred on the next to last lap of a 12 mile feature race, sending the car down a five foot embankment.

CHICAGO The National Safety Council estimates Memorial Day traffic accidents will claim 1100 lives. The normal average of motor vehicle deaths on a nonholiday Wednesday at this time of year is 70. Mrs Marie Tiers 61 of Junction City Kansas died from injuries after a two car crash south of Lamar Missouri on U S Highway 1. Her husband Fred Truman Tiers 59 was hospitalized. Three Chanute Residents Hurt In Weekend Auto Crashes
Over Sunday three Chanute residents and a former Chanute man now in Neodesha were injured in three separate one car crashes. Johnnie Cawthorn suffered a broken right shoulder blade when his car overturned on a detour south of Earlton. Carl Weiner and passenger Ronald Schommer escaped serious injuries in a rollover on US 59 near the Allen Neosho line. Mrs Marjorie Scott reported her car flipped on K96 near Coyville road and was treated at Neosho Memorial Hospital. A non injury crash near Galesburg involved Donna Marie McElroy and Mabel Reed.
