Roy Crutchfield a 68 year old Chanute man missing since May 11 was found dead in a strip pit near Arcadia Crawford county authorities said he likely had been dead for about a week. The body was located after Crutchfield’s car was found last night aiding a large search with Chanute police Crawford county sheriff and highway patrol along with National Guard and bloodhounds. He had mental illness and no money or fuel left in the car. The body will be returned to Koch Skinner Memorial Home.
