In Clayton Missouri police arrested 22 year old Marie Fultz on forgery charges after she presented two identification cards and a stolen check in the name of cashier Yvonne Beede 23 at Downs mens store Beede identified the items as part of a week old theft and alerted authorities
Kansas University Endowment Assn reports a book value of assets at 32.7 million dollars as of April 30, up 5.7 million in the past year. Irvin E. Youngberg, executive secretary, released the figures Sunday.
AP reports up to 25 Ft. Riley soldiers attended a Sunday anti-war rally by the Kansas City chapter of Vietnam Veterans Against the War in Junction City's park. Handbills advertising the rally had been distributed at Ft. Riley.
The Supreme Court refused a further hearing for Teamsters Union president James R. Hoffa on his long appeal from a 1964 jury tampering conviction. The court denied the request by a 5-1 vote with Chief Justice Burger and four others concurring. Justice Douglas dissented. Three justices recused themselves without explanation.
