Oil Field Worker Faces Murder Charge in Colorado
John J. Pipkin, 24, an oil field worker, is charged in Morgan County District Court with murder for the roadside slaying of his 16 year old wife Mabel. He is held without bail. Pipkin allegedly shot her after she left him. her body was found in a ditch near Gary School, 15 miles southeast of Fort Morgan. He was arrested after robbing a case at Cape, following a separate incident at Joe’s, near the Kansas border.

Arrest Made In Hooker Bank Robbery Near Dodge City
A 320 year old man was arrested in a churchyard near Dodge City five miles south of town during an investigation into the $17 000 First National Bank robbery in Hooker Oklahoma. Police found money in the suspect car and pockets and he was held for questioning at the Dodge City police station.
