Four bounced checks linked to Humboldt shopper
Police uncovered a trail of four no fund checks deposited Tuesday by a white woman 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 4 to 5 feet 6 inches, reddish blonde hair, using the name Mrs W A Rogers with address 901 Pecan in Humboldt. The checks totaled 210.87 with purchases at Mungers J C Penney and Wilson Clothing and a 1957 Ford sedan was tied to the suspect. A second item reports Mrs Richard McCalment of Urbana injured when her car overturned near Shaw, sustaining knee and chest injuries. her 1949 Chevrolet was a total loss.

Topeka reports show rain totals up to nearly three inches across Kansas with Lyons at 1.96 inches and Manchester at 2.20 inches. Funnel clouds were sighted near Windon and Montezuma with damaging winds west of Lyons and scattered hail in eastern Kansas. Temperatures today cooled to the 50s to 60s with a forecast of cloudy, cooler conditions through Saturday. A 4.60 inch rain washed out a railroad near Raymond in Rice County overnight.
