Family in car sickened by possible carbon monoxide poisoning
In Russell Kansas a family of five became ill from a suspected exhaust leak while driving to Pennsylvania. Five year old Cynthia Parks died on arrival at Russell City Hospital. parents and two sons David six and John nine were hospitalized with the others recovering. The family had been traveling from San Jose California.

Dogs smoked to study cancer link with humans
Dr. Oscar Auerbach presented findings from a 14 month dog study at the American Cancer Society meeting showing that smoking causes lung and airway changes in dogs that mirror human cancer in smokers.
