Area livestock outlook shows optimism across four counties
Four county agents report a generally upbeat view of livestock production. Beef cattle prices are expected to rise later, with light feeders at 28 to 32 cents per pound and heavier cattle at 27 to 30 cents. Hog futures look promising through summer, with expectations of higher averages and peak in July or August.
