Biggest Scorched Earth Raids Against Viet Cong
About 200 U.S. and South Vietnamese warplanes struck six points in North Viet Nam and near the border in a sweeping raid described as the largest scorched earth campaign against the Viet Cong. Six U.S. aircraft were lost, four helicopters down, with three American crewmen killed and 15 wounded in central Viet Nam. Thirty-five helicopters and US-Vietnamese forces clashed near Da Nang, with additional strikes on radar sites and a Viet Cong depot at Boi Loi.

Harvey Bailey Paroled From Kansas Prison for Bank Robbery
Harvey Bailey, once linked to the Urschel kidnapping and a Fort Scott bank heist, was released on parole around 8 am and will move to Joplin Missouri where a home and job await. Safe emergency landing near Fredonia shuts down field
