Driver Arrested After Lincoln Walnut Collision
John W. Basler 37 of Mission was arrested on DUI reckless driving and transporting an open bottle after a two car crash at Lincoln and Walnut around 11 pm. He posted a 175 bond and was released for a 4 pm next Thursday hearing. Opposing driver was Sam Jay Newland 18 of 407 N Santa Fe.

Minor Roof Fires Hit City Cafe Twice Today
Firemen were called to the City Cafe at 720 N Santa Fe twice to extinguish roof fires at 7 12 and 9 30 am. Fire Chief C W Brennan said damage was minor and blamed defective electrical wiring. Wet roof conditions helped limit damage. The cafe is owned by Mrs A C Mendenhall and operated by Norma Koos.
