Drivers Cited For Old Tags In Neosho County Crackdown
About eight motor vehicle owners in Neosho County have been cited since last Thursday for displaying 1956 license plates on the rear. Trooper Dick Harbaugh said more motorists were warned about old plates or front plates. Hearings are pending in city court. The crackdown will extend to front plates with former year tags. Jesse Gragg noted several drivers already cited by others. Harbaugh said the patrol will intensify enforcement.

Walter McAllister aged 54 of Pittsburg died in a Pittsburg hospital from burns received in a fire at the Frontenac City jail. City Marshal John Turlip said a mattress fire in McAllister’s cell Tuesday afternoon was put out, but a second blaze Tuesday night caused about 3000 dollars damage to the two story city hall housing the jail. McAllister was arrested Tuesday for driving while intoxicated.

Six Airmen Die In Plane Crash Near Waco Texas
