McAlester Oklahoma physician Dr Ben T Galbraith attended a convention in Oklahoma City when a two story home burned trapping his wife Kitty and their three children Frank 7 Jere 5 and Sarah Ann 4 upstairs. A neighbor raised the alarm as flames swarmed the second floor and firefighters battled the blaze. The sole survivor was Dr Galbraith whose whereabouts were unknown at the scene.
A Nashville blaze killed five people including Robert Moore 27 Barbara 21 and their sons Wayne 4 and Michael 2 and an unidentified young woman. Fire officials say all exits were blocked and the cause is under investigation with suffocation listed as the death factor.

TOPEKA The anti nudist bill was quietly shelved by the Kansas Legislature. The House Hygiene and Public Health Committee will not bring the measure forward before the Friday deadline. Committee chairman Ernest Boles said the 11 member group decided not to pursue the proposal. The bill would have banned mixed unclothed gatherings and outlawed distribution of related literature. This marks a nationwide setback as four states also failed to pass similar anti nudist legislation this year.
Johnny D. Ornelas from Pasadena transfers to Neosho for the draft pre induction exam in Kansas City as two men, Charles R. Pappin of 108 S Central and Elmer O. Martin of 17 N Ashby, are slated for final induction on March 24.
