Wheat prices show mixed moves with No 2 hard and dark hard around 1.42 to 1.46. Corn bids range from 1.31 to 1.82 for various grades. Soybeans quotes near 2.88 to 2.99 with bran and shorts prices about 39.50 to 41.75 per sack.
Chicago grain prices show Wheat No 2 hard at 1.46 and 2 red at 1.42 percent changes. Corn prices list 1 yellow at 1.37 and 2 yellow at 1.36 percent. Oats No 2 heavy white at 74 and soybeans No yellow at 3.052. Soybean oil trades at 10.35.
New York reports a mixed stock market with a slight decline on average and fairly active late trading. Daily volume runs near Thursdays 5.85 million shares as corporate bonds ease and government bonds hold near unchanged.
Neosho County and Woodson County exceed their Cancer Society quotas in the 1965 campaign. As of June 19 Ira Barber, Chanute crusade chairman, reports Neosho at 3851.65 and Woodson at 1740.11, with Allen and Wilson also posting sizable sums.
A training school for handling of the mentally disturbed was completed today at the South east Kansas Tuberculosis Hospital. Three sessions were held with eighty attendees including city police, highway patrol, county sheriff officers, a clergyman and hospital staff. In Garnett Kansas a district court jury failed to reach a verdict in the Scott Powelson case. The all male jury deliberated over 14 hours with nine for acquittal and three for conviction. Powelson faced two felonious assault counts connected to injuries to a hired man, John Webb, a former patient at Osawatomie State Hospital.
A lunar oxygen from rock process could yield oxygen and water from 42 pounds of rock, enabling extra supplies for Mars and Moon missions. Dr. Sanders Rosenberg of Aerojet General Corp notes a plant producing 24 000 pounds of oxygen monthly could cut spaceflight costs by over a billion annually.
