The Senate rejected 60 to 32 a bid to end all silver in new half dollars while keeping 40 per cent in dimes and quarters. Supporters argued the move saves silver. Pastore urged full 40 per cent cut, warning of shortages and waste.
Richard D. Cloke of Chanute pleaded guilty in police court to jail break for an Erie county jail escape last September. He received a three month county jail sentence with parole decision pending. Hearing on parole is set for 10 a.m. Monday.
