Police investigated a car collision at City Cafe as a 1957 Chevrolet damaged a 1959 Plymouth, causing minor damage to both vehicles.

Extensive Fire Damage To Merle Toews Car Near Airport
A 1959 Pontiac was heavily damaged by a fire along old highway K39 near the municipal airport around 11 p.m. Fire Chief C. W. Brennan identified Merle Toews of Wilson County as the owner, noting the blaze began in the motor. Firefighters extinguished the flames. the engine, glass, instrument panel, and upholstery suffered damage.
