Burglars Hit Henry Smith Store for 131.87 Cash
Erie sheriff reports a fourth burglary at the Henry Smith store and filling station near US 59 and K57. Thieves punched the safe taking 131.87 dollars mostly in 41 bills and 13 in change with rest in fives and tens. A tear gas guard system was triggered and nine dynamite caps were left behind.

Car IIs Demolished In Late Night Crash Near Earlton
A 1946 Pontiac owned by Robert Gurwell. 1016 S Washington, was demolished on the South Plummer road a half mile north of Earlton around 8 45 last night. Kenneth Bockover, of the Kay Hotel, was the driver and received a cut over the right eye after the car left the road in loose gravel and rolled, coming to rest on its wheels. He was treated at Neosho Memorial Hospital. Sheriff Jerry Sloan reported.
