Woman Escapes Serious Injury By Locomotive
Mrs. Garland Burdue, 46, of Earlton, escaped serious injury after her 1950 DeSoto was struck by Santa Fe locomotive no 211 at an elevated crossing two miles south of Earlton. She was treated for minor cuts, bruises and shock at Neosho Memorial Hospital and released. Sheriff investigators cited mistaken headlight as the cause as the train, traveling about 75 mph, struck the car and tossed it from the tracks.
