Robbery at Morris Liquor Store on West Main
A masked robber stole an undetermined amount from Morris Liquor Store at 1517 W Main as Lois Morris and clerk Barbara Ranz faced the intruder at about 9 50 p m. Two suspects, brothers, were questioned after being stopped on Plummer Road. no arrests yet. Investigation continues with police optimistic about a quick resolution.

Brass rubbings from London churches, dating from the late 13th to 18th centuries, are shown at Chanute Art Gallery. Created by Phyllis Ross during 1970 73, the pieces depict knights clergy and ladies in historically accurate costume with inscribed epitaphs and tar fixed brass plates. Salome Harmon bought the collection to help redecorate her home.
