Death Takes C A Deay In Neosho Memorial Hospital
Clifford A. Deay 74 of 405 West Main retired merchant died early today at Neosho Memorial Hospital from an apparent heart ailment after recent recovery from a March heart attack. He had 25 years as J C Penney Co manager here retiring in 1952 and later worked at Foster Clothing Co. He served 12 years on the school board, was its president twice, 12 years on the Chamber of Commerce board, Rotary president, welfare advisory committee chairman, and was a member of the Christian church and Cedar Lodge AF and AM. He was formerly Penney manager at Parsons and Texarkana before moving to Chanute in 1927. Surviving: wife Mina L. Jones. sons J Keith and Dwight. five grandchildren. two brothers and a sister. Funeral arrangements are pending with Gibson-Koch Chapel.
