Carl Roy Chase and Jay Lea King, aged 19 and 20, were arraigned in Ottawa on three new counts burglary of a Homewood grocery possession of a weapon after a felony and automobile theft. King waived preliminary hearing. Chase seeks one. They had escaped from a guard five days earlier and hid in a child’s playhouse before surrendering. Police pursued after a long road-block chase.

Erie County treasurer Freda C. Locke announced Monday as the deadline to pay the second half of 1959 county personal and real estate taxes.
