Information on Soil Bank Plan to Reach Kansas Farmers
Kansas ASC chairman Ben C. Keifer said details of the new federal soil bank program will come "as soon as passive" likely in July. A two day session will study the program for agricultural agencies, followed by district meetings for county officials starting June 22 in Beloit and Hutchinson and June 25 in Topeka and Colby with Iola and Garden City to follow. Keifer expects immediate contracts for participation after county meetings. Authorities note a separate case: Harvey N. Mighell, 53, was convicted of federal income tax evasion on June 26 in Kansas City.
