Indictment for Judge Bean on Tax Charges
Paso County Judge Woodrow Bean was indicted by a federal grand jury for willful failure to file income tax returns covering 1956 through 1960 with a total income of 53296.58. Bean, a former Democratic congressman-at-large candidate, argued the tax was unconstitutional and claimed withheld amounts covered his liability.
