Doctors say the healthy brain side is taking over functions with no further seizures and improved mood and behavior, with school planned this fall in northern Indiana.
In New York a young Air Force captain and his wife each won 32000 on CBS TV The $64 000 Question for answering different Sherlock Holmes questions. Capt Thomas O Rourke and Mrs O Rourke of Fairborn Ohio could reach 128000 if they return next Tuesday. They named story titles and Holmes characters.

A United States Air Force Scorpion fighter crashed into a car in Minneapolis last night, killing Thelma R. Usher and her 5-year-old daughter Rita. The husband Clair Usher and son Allen 7 survived injuries. 68-year-old housekeeper Helga Anderson was hospitalized in critical condition. Pilot Capt. Donald H. Hamilton and radar observer Lt. Henry Gerling escaped unharmed.
Adlai E. Stevenson swept California with about 62 percent of the Democratic vote, earning 68 convention votes and widening his delegate lead over Kefauver. Kefauver trailed at 359,535 to Stevenson’s 592,409 as GOP totals favored Eisenhower in a high turnout across precincts.
James Car told police his vehicle in the 400 block of South Lincoln was damaged by a hit and run observed overnight. Right side fenders and door were dented and a chrome trim piece from the other car was recovered in the street.

Boston physician Dr. John B. Graham and his wife Ruth reported at the third National Cancer Conference that about 30 patients with advanced cancer were given vaccines made from their own tumors. The vaccines were injected under the skin and followed by X rays to kill cancer cells. Early signs suggest possible benefits, though it is too soon to tell. The work aims to boost antibodies and defensive cells to resist cancer spread. They are from the Vincent Memorial Hospital in Boston.
State tax figures show mixed results with April receipts up sharply from last year while May totals declined. Total revenue for May reached 11,378,641, down 2,073,888 from a year earlier, with income tax at 2,883,323, down 1,734,105 versus May 1955.

A 20 year old Arma girl Delores M Utermoehlen died in a three vehicle wreck on rain slicked U S 69 three miles south of Fort Scott. Jo Ann Bousfield and Sharon Sherwood both 19 and Ernestine Swezey 18 were injured. all had been riding in the same car. The car spun and was struck by a dairy truck and another auto. the dead girl was thrown 125 feet. The two other drivers were uninjured and the two other girls not seriously hurt.
Red Cross seeks emergency leave for sailor Charles Hessemann aboard the U S S Bashaw after his parents Lucille Hessemann and Charles Hessemann died within hours in Wichita. Bodies were taken to Winfield for the couple, who had moved to Wichita eight years ago. Funeral arrangements were incomplete.
