Tipsy Driver and Lion Taken Into Custody
In Los Angeles officers rounded up a drunk truck driver and his 8 month old pet lion named King found in a parked car. John Shinners 21 arrived and grabbed the lion ordering it to attack but the lion yawned. Shinners was booked on suspicion of drunkenness. King was transported to an animal shelter in a truck cage.

Negro Pastor Opens Chicago Church Integrated Services
The Rev Dr Abraham Lincoln Reynolds Jr 39 formerly of Topeka Kansas became the first Black pastor of a white congregation at Sixth United Presbyterian Chicago delivering his inaugural sermon to an integrated 246 worshippers about 60 percent Negro and 40 percent white. He noted unity in faith and shared belief in harmony before God. Church canvass invited local Negroes to join the 59 year old congregation.
