Three Perish In Hotel Fire In Worcester
A five story wood and brick hotel Pleasant in Worcester Mass caught fire early today killing three people identified as Sadie Mason 58 Anna O'Brien and Mary Walton. Eight others were seriously injured and more than a dozen rescued from the fourth and fifth floors as firefighters battled the flames. Several more were treated at City Hospital with at least five in very critical condition.

Youth Is Injured In Highway Crash Near Chanute
Frank Martin Luther aged 18 of Erie sustained facial cuts and abrasions when his 1948 Ford collided with a concrete bridge barrier on Beach Street road about four miles west of Chanute. Troopers Duane Houck and R L White investigated. Luther said he did not see the bridge until it was too late. The car flipped and was a total loss. bridge damage was about 100 dollars.

Three Women Killed in Oklahoma Traffic Crash

Gas Line Blast Destroys Farm Home Near Ellinwood
A 26 inch natural gas pipe ruptured northeast of Ellinwood Kansas triggering a fire that destroyed a farmhouse occupied by Fred Long. Long and his 16 year old daughter Kana escaped with minor burns while Mrs Long was away. Firefighters from Ellinwood Great Bend and Rushton battled the blaze as flames or 100 feet high burned for 45 minutes. Northern Natural Gas crews rerouted the main gas flow and began repairs with only farm customers in the area affected.
