A saw mill worker died after being pulled into a wood saw in Bunker, near Anderson, Missouri. The deceased was 47 year old Robert Otto Schlessman of Bunker Hill, working with his brother in law Taylor Mullins of Anderson at the time of the accident.

Missing 6 Days Youth Is Found Alive in Gorge
John Manson Owens III, 16, of Savannah Georgia, was found alive after six days in the Grand Canyon. He hiked with Rev. Eugene A. Gavigan 30 and Walter Mahany Jr 16, both of Savannah. Mahany died of exposure. Gavigan fell from a cliff. Owens was rescued nine miles downstream and hospitalized for observation.
