The City Commission passed an ordinance to charge non residents and commercial operators landfill fees effective August 1. Fees tier by vehicle size include 50 cents for under one ton autos and pickups, one to two tons at 1, two tons and above at 3 dollars. Chanute residents with a paid utility bill may use the landfill free.
