A 16 year old, Robert L Whitesell Jr of Manhattan, was found dead in the Blue River below Turtle Creek Dam. Believed to have drowned after leaving Monday to fish. Cars Damaged In Two Crashes Near Chanute
Police investigated two non injury accidents yesterday and today totaling about 400. Frank Cook crossed Plummer Highway in a 1951 Ford pickup colliding with Charles Rettig in a 1948 Chevrolet. Cook cited for failure to yield. Rettig for no valid license. A second crash on E Main involved David Bryant in a 1959 Pontiac and Clifford Newton in a 1948 International truck. Bryant’s car sustained 90 dollars damage while Newton’s truck was undamaged.
