Two Chanute youths paroled for one year on theft charge
Two Chanute men Jeffrey Lynn Jordan aged 18 and George Patton aged 19 pled guilty to unauthorized control over another's property. They were sentenced to 90 days in Neosho County Jail and given a one year parole. Two juveniles arrested with them were released to relatives pending juvenile court action.

Trimmer Breaks Line Cutting Power to 1500 Homes
A tree trimmer working in southwest Kansas City snapped the same 13,200 volt line twice, cutting electricity to about 1,500 homes. Crews repaired the fault and restored power by 6:30 p.m., after the worker left the scene.

Corona Indicted on 25 Counts in Farm Laborer Murders
Juan V. Corona was indicted in Yuba City California on 25 counts of murder connected to mass grave discoveries in an orchard. Kansas lawmakers face 15 million gap amid inflation

Miller Appeals Slot Ruling. Won't Challenge Entire Bingo Law
