Mrs Retha Grady aged 37 of Chanute was arrested after police said she operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor and reckless driving. Officer R L White reported the car on North Santa Fe stopped abruptly and turned sideways. A city court hearing was set for 9 a m Monday.

Mrs. Kenneth Young Injured in Erie Car Collision
Mrs. Kenneth Young of Erie suffered a facial laceration when a 1953 Dodge driven by her husband struck the end of a parked wheat trailer around 9:15 p.m. The car and trailer sustained damage. Mrs. Young was treated at the Erie clinic and released. Sheriff Lee Montgomery said Vern Wilson had left the grain load trailer parked four miles north and three miles west of Erie.

Hutchinson Man Dies After Beating

Youth Is Fined 200 After Police Chase
Charles Fiene, 20, of Neodesha, who escaped a motor car chase on July 4, pleaded guilty in city court to reckless driving and driving with a suspended license. Judge Robert Pennington fined him 100 dollars on each count plus 15 dollars costs. He was taken into custody in Neodesho and brought to Chanute for the hearing by Undersheriff Jack Reynolds and Patrolman Chet Hale.
