The Optimist club of Chanute celebrated its first anniversary at the Tioga Hotel with a charter presentation to the Optimist Boys club and a $75 check to Eagle Scout Alvin Seefeldt. about 60 attended. Ralph Rice and Loren Marsh presented the expense check for Seefeldt’s trip to the Explorer Scout Conference in Ann Arbor. Seefeldt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Seefeldt, represents the northern district of the Sedan Area Council and holds the Eagle rank with three palms and a church award.
