Two Men Injured When Truck Overturns Near Altoona
Donald D. Stowell 21 and Ralph B. Hicks 25 of Rolfe Iowa were admitted to Neosho Memorial Hospital after a semi trailer overturned about five north of Altoona on highway 1. Hospital said injuries not serious and release possible tomorrow. Both were Farmers Coop employees in Sioux City. They were brought in by Jack Fulghum, filling station operator at the 99 junction of US75 and old K39.

Former Kansas Governor Ben Paulen dies at a Fredonia hospital at age 91 two weeks before his 92nd birthday. He served as lieutenant governor in 1922 and governor in 1925 for two terms and was mayor of Fredonia for three terms. He also held state posts including senator oil inspector and welfare board chairman. Paulen was a longtime Masonic leader and past grand master. survived by wife Barbara.

In San Francisco a grand jury indicted nine youths for terrorizing a middle aged Jewish couple with anti Semitic threats and vandalism over 15 months. Two Charged in Chanute Burglary and Theft

United DC8 Crash at Stapleton Field Denver
A United Air Lines DC8 carrying about 130 passengers crashed while landing at Stapleton Field Denver. There were no immediate fatalities reported though injuries were feared.
