A fourth charge for destroying public property was added for breaking a chair at the county jail. She was released on $200 bond and slated for a Thursday hearing in justice court. Her husband Myron Miller pleaded guilty to intoxication and was fined $25 plus $5 costs. The couple, taken into custody three miles east of Shaw, around 11 p.m.

Eclectic banker fends off holdup men killing one
Bank of Eclectic cashier Carl Ray Barker 31 shot and killed James Bray 25 of Montgomery after Bray and William Hayward 26 kidnapped Policeman Maxie Taunton and robbed the bank of 250 dollars in nickels and dimes. Barker used boiling water and a shotgun to subdue and kill Bray. Hayward and Taunton were wounded and taken to Kilby Prison in Montgomery.
