Four Chanute area men were honored at the Chanute JayCees annual awards banquet at the Masonic Temple marking National JayCee Week. Winners included the 1964 Distinguished Service Award recipient Rev. Richard D. Worley Jr. Ray Zumalt earned the Representative Young Teacher honor, Don Sailors the Outstanding Young Farmer, and Stuart Hoofnagle named Boss of the Year. Special awards went to Mrs. Maxine Caldwell and to The Tribune and KCRB Radio.

Suit Seeks $10,000 in Car Collision Case

Jamboree Planned for Chanute Southeast Kansas Poultry Jamboree

Gurwell Bailed After Reckless Driving and Weapon Charge
Gary G. Gurwell of 802 N. Grant posted 215 bond Sunday after arrest around 11 p.m. Saturday on charges of reckless driving speeding and carrying a concealed weapon. Bond requests were 100 for reckless driving 100 for concealed weapon and 15 for speeding. Police said Gurwell rode a motor bike and the weapon was brass knuckles.
