A regional planning panel was approved by 75 city and county officials from eight southeast Kansas counties in a sheriff’s court house meeting. A temporary committee will form February 1 to plan a permanent commission with representatives from Allen Bourbon Cherokee Labette Neosho Montgomery Wilson and Woodson counties. Crawford County signed a letter of intent to join later.
