Three Die As Turnpike Crash Exceeds 100 MPH
A tire blowout sent a speeding car over the Kansas Turnpike yesterday, killing three occupants: William Corcoran 57 Violet Corcoran and Eva Fetters. Witnesses say the car exceeded 100 mph when the tire failed a mile west of the eastern toll gate in Wyandotte County. The vehicle skidded 300 feet struck an embankment rolled and 315 feet from the roadside. Four have died on the turnpike since opening in October.
