A flaming bluish green object described as a meteorite streaked over Michigan around 6 30 am. It frightened some and drew crowds while others speculated it landed. William Liller of the University of Michigan astronomy department confirmed it was a meteorite noting meteorites are common and bright at this season.

Royster Panel Highlights Area Guidance Meet in Southeast Kansas
Ninety seven school representatives from ten area towns attended a Southeast Kansas Guidance Association winter conference in Chanute to discuss programs for more able students. In Littleton New Hampshire a faint radio signal sparked fresh search effort for doctors Ralph Miller and Robert Quinn missing since their mercy flight to Berlin. Ground and air teams scoured an eight mile zone between Mt Agassiz and Franconia Notch as Civil Air Patrol member Karl Steady reported fragments reading Agass and Noch. The doctors disappeared Saturday on the return trip from Lebanon to Berlin to treat a heart patient.
